What Causes Shoulder Pain?

 

  • Dislocation. 

  • Fracture. 

  • Frozen shoulder/peri arthritis.

  • Rotator Cuff Injury.

  • Osteoarthritis. 

  • Tendinitis.

Symptoms of Shoulder Pain:

 

  • Unable to move shoulder joint normally. 

  • Constant pain in the shoulder joint.

  • Unable to lift up the arm. 

  • A click or pop sound when you move the shoulder. 

  • Night pain and unable to lie down on the same side while sleeping. 

  • Severe pain from certain angles. 

 

Shoulder Pain Diagnosis: 

 

  • Unable to move shoulder joint normally. 

  • Constant pain in the shoulder joint.

  • Unable to lift up the arm. 

  • A click or pop sound when you move the shoulder. 

  • Night pain and unable to lie down on the same side while sleeping. 

  • Severe pain from certain angles. 

  • If there is some serious issue, the doctor can recommend tests like:

           - X-Ray

           - CT Scan

           - MRI 

           - Blood tests

 

Treatment:

  • Pain killers or even hot packs can work for temporary pain relief. 

  • For reducing swelling or inflammation, you can use an ice pack.

  • Certain injections containing corticosteroids, Hyaluronic Acid, and Platelets Rich Plasma are given to provide severe pain. 

  • Surgery is needed for some problems like shoulder replacement, rotator cuff surgery, etc.
