KNEE PAIN

What Causes Knee Pain: 

 

  • Form ligament by accident like an ACL injury. 

  • Medical conditions like Arthritis.

  • Bone Fractures.

  • Tendinitis. Pain in the front of the knee, which gets worse while climbing stairs. 

  • Dislocation of the knee cap.

  • Heavy Physical Activity. 

  • Rickets.

 

 

Symptoms of Knee Pain:

 

  • Constant Pain around the Knee.

  • Cracking sounds in the knee when moving. 

  • Discomfort in the knee.

  • Sharp pain in the knee while climbing.

  • Not able to extend the knee.

  • Swelling/ stiffness in the knee.

  • Redness or feeling of warmth in the knee.

  • Pain after prolonged sitting.

 

 

Knee Pain Diagnosis:

 

  • The doctor will analyze the following movements to understand your problem:

      - Your ability to move your leg in different directions in sitting/ standing positions. 

      - Inspection of the knee joint to evaluate the integrity of the structure. 

     - Inspection of the knee for redness/ swelling of the knee. 

     - Your normal walking pattern.

 

  • If there are any serious issues, the doctor can recommend other tests like: 

 

        - X-Ray

        - CT Scan

        - MRI 

        - Blood tests. 

 

Treatment: 

 

  • Pain killers or even hot packs can work for temporary pain relief. 

  • For reducing swelling or inflammation, you can use an ice pack.

  • Certain injections containing corticosteroids, Hyaluronic Acid, and Platelets Rich Plasma are given to provide severe pain. 

  • Surgery is needed for some problems like Knee Replacement Surgery, ACL surgery, etc.
